Can You Really Enjoy An Outdoor Hot Tub In Winter?

Hot Tubs; mention the words to most people and they will associate a hot tub with warm, sunny weather; relaxing in the sun with a glass of ice cold wine or under the stars on a warm summer night. What most people don’t realise is that a hot tub can be just as enjoyable in the depths of winter and can provide a unique experience that will exceed anyone’s expectations. We caught up with Vita Spa to find out more!

We don’t usually get much snow in this country, however, it looks like we are in for a treat this year with weather forecasters predicting the coldest winter for decades. Just imagine if you could enjoy the experience of a hot tub and the snow at the same time.

Of course one good thing to your advantage is that you could get your hot tub delivered to you quicker than in the busier summer months. Hot tub suppliers are likely to be a bit quieter at this time of year so you could be up and running before you know it.

There are one or two precautions you should take during the winter months, particularly if freezing temperatures are expected. Make sure the freeze protection system is activated on your hot tub or spa to prevent the pipes from freezing. If you don’t have such a system, make sure you set the timer to come on at regular intervals to keep warm water circulating through the pipes.

Make sure you keep a good quality lid on your hot tub that is well insulated to prevent heat loss and when it does snow, make sure you regularly remove it from the cover to prevent damage.

Keep an eye on the water level in your hot tub as by letting it get too low it could cause expensive damage to the pipes and pump if the water freezes.

Finally, just enjoy your new hot tub. You will find you become the centre of attention as friends and family will want to try out a new experience with you.
