Where to Find Advice on Disability Issues

Cynthia Phillips May 28, 2022 Health Comments are off

There are many ways to find advice on disability issues. However, not all of them are easily accessible. Here are a few of the best places to get support and information about disability issues. The National Advocacy Service provides free, confidential assistance to adults with disabilities. They can also assist employers in utilizing the talent of people with disabilities. If you are an employer who is experiencing difficulties finding employees, they can help you find suitable candidates.

Equal Rights Advocates is another good place to find advice on disability-related issues. They are dedicated to helping disabled people gain equal rights in society. The organisation works with volunteer lawyers to offer legal advice and guidance to people who cannot afford it. They provide details of free legal advice clinics in your area. Alternatively, you can find a lawyer with a specialist interest in disability-related matters. Either way, you will find excellent help and advice for disability-related issues. For issues that require advice on equipment, consider Walking Aids from Ability Superstore

The Equality Act 2010 protects people with disabilities from discrimination. People with disabilities are protected from direct discrimination because of their disability, or from indirect discrimination, which involves an organisation’s way of working. Indirect discrimination is unlawful unless the organisation can prove good cause. If you are a person with a disability and are facing discrimination, you should seek advice as soon as possible. The Equality Act covers people with disabilities and has helped many people gain the independence and respect they deserve.
