What to Look for when Buying Your First Property

Finally getting the deposit together for your first home is really exciting. You can become a homeowner at last! Damp – This is not always easy to spot but there are signs of it. A damp or musty smell is a giveaway of damp, as well as brown patches on walls and ceilings.

Sales Tricks – When you are looking around a house, be aware then people often use certain tricks in order to sell the house. Things like newly painted rooms, cleverly placed mirrors and smaller than usual furniture can lead you to believe a room is bigger than it is.

Which way the House Faces – This has a big effect on the light inside the home, as well as the garden so take a compass with you! If you want the sun most of the day in the garden, then south facing is the best garden for you.
