When you first start off and go on the hunt for the perfect plot of land, you may find that it can be tricky to find somewhere that fits the bill – when choosing the plot for you m, the key is to be open minded and accept that you may need to compromise a little.

As well as finding a plot, you then have to obtain planning permission, unless you purchase a plot that already has this. You will need this before you can start the build.

Once this is done, you can then contact an architect – they will be able to turn the ideas in your head into plans that the builders can follow to build your home.
