How aging of our skin occurs

Trev March 14, 2019 Reviews Comments are off

Aging of our bodies and skin is an inevitable part of the human existence however there are procedures such as those carried out by a Non surgical facelift Cardiff company that can help to reduce and in some instances even remove the outward signs of aging in our faces. There are a number of things to be aware of when it comes to facial aging as well as some things you can do to help compliment the treatments that you have done.

Aging actually starts to occur in our faces and other areas of our skin from the age of 25 onwards, which is much younger than most people first expect. This is one of the reasons why many cosmetic companies offer special moisturisers and cleansers for people from the age of 25. This is due to the fact that the protein that holds our skin place, collagen, is produced in lower quantities from the age of 25 onwards. This means that saggy skin and wrinkles start to appear. Most people don’t actually start to notice the outward signs of ageing until well into their 30s.

You can over cleanse your skin. In fact our skin produces natural oils all day long that are unique to each individual are are they to create a barrier against the outer layer of skin to protect it from various damaging effects and trapping in an important layer of moisture. This is the reason why it is suggested that we cleanse our faces a maximum of twice a day, ideally first thing in the morning and last thing before you go to bed, doing this more than twice a day will result in your skin feeling incredibly dry. Everyone’s skin is different so if you find that your skin is very dry or oily it is important to seek the advice of a dermatologist or specialist in skin care to identify your own daily skincare routine.

Smoking is one of the biggest factors in premature aging of the skin. This is because there are around 4000 different chemicals in tobacco, with a large proportion of them having a direct impact on the skin’s elastin and collagen. For this reason it is not only smokers that have premature aging but also those living in the same household that are around secondhand smoke every day.

The sun can also be incredibly damaging for our skin and it is thought that using sunscreen daily can actually reduce the aging of the skin by around 5 percent. It is the UV rays that cause damage and result in aging and this goes for any level of sun not just in the summer. This is the reason why many companies have added an SPF factor of 15 to all of their daily face moisturisers.
