Trev July 03, 2018 Reviews Comments are off

Cheltenham is the perfect place for a short stay or a week long trip. It’s small enough to explore on foot, yet large enough to give you a huge variety of things to do on your staycation this year. Whether it’s sightseeing local attractions or going for fast-paced activities, Cheltenham has everything you need to have a great time. So, here are some of the best things you can do on your stay.

A relaxing start to the trip

If you’re tired from the journey, you may want to start with a slower-paced, nature-based activity. Cheltenham sits in the Cotswolds and boasts dozens of picturesque trails and walks (guided and non-guided). As well as the parks and gardens in the town, you will find the impressive Cleeve Hill, which has the highest point in the Cotswolds. Crickley Hill also has a cafe, picnic and barbecue area, so you can enjoy food in the natural beauty around you.

Heritage and sightseeing in Cheltenham

If you’re looking to learn more about this historic town, there are some great destinations to visit during your stay. Cheltenham Town Hall, Pittville Pump Rooms, and The Rotunda at the top of Montpellier are just a few of the gems that Cheltenham has to offer, allowing you to take a walking tour through the town’s history.

You can also use sites like this https://www.q-let.co.uk/ to stay in Montpelier itself in Cheltenham serviced apartments. If you want a thorough, step-by-step experience, head to the Tourist Information Centre (between April and October), and you can receive a guided walking tour, exploring Cheltenham’s best-known sights and more.

Museums and galleries

If history isn’t your thing, why not have a look at some of the beautiful galleries? The fabulous Wilson Art Gallery and Museum is home to dozens of guest and permanent exhibitions year-round. There’s also Garden Gallery in Imperial Gardens, D’Arcy Art in The Suffolks, Castle Fine Art on the Prom and Whitewall Gallery, which sits in House of Fraser. Preserving the town’s attractions and boasting of their importance is high on the local agenda 9.

There is plenty to entertain you both in Cheltenham and the wider Cotswolds, so book now and spend a UK holiday relaxing with your family or friends in this beautiful town.
