Time for a carpet safari?

Trev August 04, 2020 Home Improvement Comments are off

It’s very unlikely that you ever give any thought to what could be living in your carpet. Unless you vacuum regularly and make sure that you use the services of a company like this Carpet Cleaner Gloucester based firm, they can become a problem and a very annoying one at that. If we could shrink ourselves down and get into the fibres of our carpet what is it that we could see?

  1. Don’t let the bedbugs bite. They don’t only like to get into your bed and they do indeed bite. These little critters love a nice warm house so make sure you take the sheets off the bed and get some air into the bedroom. They really do not like the cold at all. Bed bugs can cause irritation to the skin but are generally just an annoyance.
  2. Dust mites. These creatures are a bit more of a serious threat. They are known to make conditions like asthma worse and even set it off. They also have effects on those that suffer from Rhinitis and eczema. The rather scary thing is that we are the dust mites main source of food! As we shed our dead skin cells the dust mites latch onto them and use them as a meal.

  1. Carpet beetles. These really are the King of the carpet jungle in terms of annoyance. They can easily start to chew up the carpet and any other soft furnishings and clothing that you have. They spread terrific destruction and need to be treated straight away. Worse is to come, even their larvae can be dangerous. They have long hairs that can trigger allergic reactions in people.

In all cases, it’s best to get rid as soon as you can.
