Having Keepsakes to Pay Tribute to a Close Friend

Trev March 10, 2018 Reviews Comments are off

When a close friend passes away, it can be a very difficult time in your life. So that you can remember them, you may therefore want to buy a keepsake so that you can remember that person wherever you are.

Jewelry

Remembrance jewelry such as a memorial pendant or bracelet is a lovely way of keeping a small reminder of your friend with you wherever you go. You can either get a pendant that holds a token amount of ashes, or you can get one that has your loved one’s initials or even picture engraved. This is a subtle way of keeping a sweet reminder of that person with you all the time.

Garden Items

Memorial stones or plaques are ideal for you if you spend a lot of time outside or if the person that you are remembering loved gardening and the outdoors. When you place a memorial stone in your favorite flower bed, you can see it every time you sit in your back yard. Alternatively, you might like to plant a tree in your friend’s memory somewhere like your garden or have a tree dedicated to them at a local park.

Household Items

Kitchen items such as mugs or plates are popular with people that want to remember their friends. Although you may not want something really garish that has your friend’s picture on it (this may upset you), you can instead opt for even a color or a quote printed on crockery to remind you of them.

Coffee mugs are a lovely way of remembering someone. Especially as you grab your morning up of coffee, you can think about your friend and all the fun chats you had over a cup of Joe when they were with you.

Plaques

A plaque can be placed wherever you want and this makes it a great reminder of your friend. If you choose a nice place for it that you know you will see a lot then you can be regularly reminded of the good times you used to spend with him or her. Plaques can come in a range of shapes and sizes and you can add any type of message to it that you want. Start by picking a metal that you want such as cast bronze, and then think about where it is going to be placed. For example, if it is going to be attached to a bench, it will need to be small. Choose a message that sums up how you feel about that person and make sure you include their name as well as birth and death dates.

Ornaments

For beautiful reminders of your friend to keep at home and on display, you might like an ornament. These come in a variety of shapes and sizes and all you need to do is pick one that “speaks” to you. The shape of an angel, for example, might comfort you that your friend is in a happier place and looking down on you.
