Ways that you can Decrease your Risk of High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure or hypertension as it is also known is one of the biggest killers and is also something that can lead to other serious health problems. It is something that can run in families and is also something that can be caused by lifestyle choices.

There is a lot of research still being done into high blood pressure including treatment of it like these paid clinical trials by Trials 4 us. But there are also things that you can do yourself to lower your chances of developing hypertension – here are just a few ways you can do this…

 

Watch how Much Alcohol you Drink – Drinking too much alcohol can lead to a wide range of serious health problems and high blood pressure is one of them. It is advised that you should drink no more than 14 units of alcohol per week.

Be more Active – Physical activity is a great way to keep your blood pressure within a healthy range and is not only good for the body but is also good for the mind too. Whether you enjoy playing sports, running or fitness classes, try to increase your physical activity levels.

Lose Weight – If you are overweight your heart has to work harder to move the blood around the body and this can cause your blood pressure to become higher. Make sure that your diet is full of good foods like plenty of fruit and veg and low in saturated fat.
